We'll see if they want high scores or better academic record!

White male/out-of-state/engineering. Have heard UVA is more concerned with grades/academic courses then they are with SAT scores. I don't think I stand much of a chance since I'm out-of-state but it will be interesting to see since my SAT score is low but class rank is high. Already got into Purdue and hoping to get into Michigan.

1290 SAT's (600V, 690M) Got 730 on my Math SAT 11...for some reason couldn't get higher then 690 on the SAT)
1/445
16 Honors/AP classes
so so EC's, did captain a varsity sport and I direct our school's annual fair

Forgot to add 4.3 weighted. Straight A's except for a B in AP History. Anyone
think I have shot?

i have a 4.4 and i am 65 in my classout of 488

The adcom is going to be appreciative of your GPA and especially your class rank. Applying to the engineering school though, your score is going to hurt you alot, even more with the low verbal ranking. The problem with the 730 on the SATII is it's heavily curved/scaled/whatever you want to call it.

I think as long as you have the SATs OR the grades, you can get increase your chances wildly by writting really good essays.
