19 views, huh? I gotta say, Barnard’s forum is beating Wellesley in terms of activity and a sense of community by far. We can’t let that happen, can we, Wellesley prospies? : )
Well I’ll start. I was deferred Barnard ED so now I’m here-- and I love both schools for different reasons. ;]
Still writing my supplement and my supplements for all my other colleges and slightly going crazy. Thank goodness for holiday break.

I’m applying!! And we’re definitely better than Barnard! ;)

International student from India here. Wellesley’s specially cool for it’s science program, proximity to Boston, and the Honor Code was something that completely caught my attention. I’d wanted to apply EE, but apparently it’s not possible for international students asking for financial aid. Oh well.

I’m done with Wellesley supp, just not sent it yet, ha! I just keep procrastinating it everyday in nervousness.
Hmm, I’ve got to get all this over by the 1st; we have final exams in my country in March and prep exams for them start in jan.

What other schools out of the Seven (okay, okay, five) Sisters are you all applying to?The Sisterhood is such a big part of why I’m applying! I’m applying to only two others-- Smith and Mt Holyoke. Tbh, Wellesley’s the only women’s college that I’m dying to get into though. I would choose it over many very selective co-ed colleges.

Haha I’m here… glad to have submitted already; am applying EE.

@Garfield Girl - me too!

I’m applying to Smith + Mt. Holyoke, but Wellesley is my first choice.

I’m a Canadian from Vancouver - looking forward to meeting you girls!

Are all your applications almost done? Apart from the 7 sisters, were there any other schools that you applied for?

GarfieldGirl- Congrats! Well, if you’re already done with it, it doesn’t hurt to close the essay up for a week and look back at it with fresh eyes. : ) It’s too bad you can’t apply EE though-- I imagine waiting until March would be so nerve-wracking.
I’m appliying to Smith and considering Bryn Mawr. What made you pick Smith and Mt. Holyoke?
'Grats Aspheric + MissFem. : ) I see you’re both at the Barnard forum, too.
@MissFem- Aside from Barnard I applied to NYU, Boston U, Vassar (at the strong exhortation by the ever-so-helpful marama ) and my safety, Rutgers U. But like you, Wellesley’s now my first choice. Not a lot, I know. Going to apply to some others at the Jan 15 deadline.

I applied EE!

I’m applying! RD
Wellesley is definitely my top choice, which is really unusual because I’ve never considered an all-women’s college in my life. I’m not applying to any of the other Sister’s because none of the others stood out to me at all… And none of the others have Harvard and MIT boys in close proximity ;)

Applied RD to Wellesley. I hope to be interviewed in the past few weeks!

Wow…so much enthusiasm for Wellesley!
I am an international and I am applying to Wellesley too! I never thought I’d consider an all womens college but then I fell in instant love with the college! and the sciences are just awesome! and Hey, did all of you see the Wellesley quiz on the site? The last question and the answer quite decided it for me. How cool is that?
@GarfieldfGirl and @MissFem ya ae? sad that we cant do EE, and I am also doing Wellesley, Smith and MHC with Wellesley on the top!

WHEEE Wellesley!

EE for me!

Interviewing on Saturday with a local alum, a UW grad student :)

I applied RD! YEAH!

I am an international student, yet I live in US, so I guess I am not really an international student.

I always considerd all-women college because I am a feminist since…long as I can remember. I applied to other Co-ed school but Wellesley is my first choice. I am REALLY excited about wellesley and I am eager to hear from them

I have an interview this friday evening!! I am invited to the interviewer’s house and I really worry about this interview. Also I have to take TOEFL since my SAT CR was not-so-good.

Let’s wait togather till April! LET’T GO LADIES!

lovin the enthusiasm! hahaha

Not gunna lie, one of the biggest draws for me (aside from stellar liberal arts academics) is the all-female Shakespeare troupe. I can finally be Hamlet, or Iago, or Macbeth! :D

MissFem, hi! Nice to see I have international company here. :)

Shay- Marama was awesome in helping me out! After her edit, I didn’t really have to wait for anything else. I see there are some more Marama fans here. Three cheers for Marama!
I’m applying to Smith and MHC because I know alumni from both, and I’ve gotten positive reviews. However, my first choice is Wellesley. Being an international asking for financial aid, I have no choice but to apply to a large number of schools(including a few of those crapshoots every int’l applies to), but that doesn’t mean I cannot have favorites(hint hint)! ;)

Buzzybee- Yep, it’s sad. I wonder why they kept this policy? Wouldn’t this be a way to judge which applicant is really interested in the school? Maybe they want to dole out the aid after looking at all applicants?

Kenzie, Ryanghee- I had my interview a few months ago. I suggest you keep cool and just have fun. When they say informative, they mean informative! It’s really an informal interaction, and you can talk about anything you want to know about the school! It’s not like MIT ( I’m not applying) where I hear you’re asked to suggest solutions to world problems. :)

Everyone- While I would love to be an active member to keep this thread running, I have to say that I’ll be present in scarcity here for some time. In India, we have final national exams in March, and these really big prep exams start in January. However, I’ll keep popping in as much as I can.
Wellesley <3! :D

Hi everyone! I also applied to Smith and Mt. Holyoke because I like the idea of all-women’s colleges and the cameraderie they bring. I’m big on community. I’m from MA, so I’ve met several Wellesley grads, and for the most part they’re really enthusiastic about the school. My interviewer was really self-assured and had gotten into four law schools, two of which were Harvard and Yale. I was a fan.

8 more weeks until we hear back EE…

@BuzzyBee

To answer your question, Canadians are actually considered under the same branch as Americans when distributing financial aid. Therefore, Canadians aren’t international students under Wellesley’s terms - which is why I was able to apply EE :)

@Shay33

I hope you get into all your other schools! Vassar looks fab, I was looking at it but had too much to do to fill out an application.

I did apply to Smith/Barnard/Mt.Holyoke -> Women’s colleges for the win!

In terms of SAT/ACT scores, does anyone have a rough approximation of Wellelsey’s intake?

Mean test scores:
SAT Critical Reading 684
SAT Writing 697
SAT Math 681
ACT 30

:)

Hi, GarfieldGirl. Thanks for the compliment. I’m pretty good at proofreading : )

Shay: I don’t hope you get into ALL your schools! I only hope you get into Wellesley so you and my daughter can get to know each other better (The other day was fun for us).
