OH COME ON. Now there’s a button on the MyWellesley Portal that says Decision. But when I clicked it it said “Record not found.” ■■■. I’m guessing that just means we need to wait until 5? Because they have to give you an actual decision even if it’s a denial. Anyway that was a false alarm for sure! Only 6 more hours.

I was so worried when I saw “Record not found.” Some of my application materials made it on the last day they were due, March 27th. So I was worried my application may not have been read and this was my actual decision! I sent an email just in case.

Well if you get a response, would you enlighten us here?

Of course! I also called an left a voicemail. Hopefully we’ll find out soon!

I got a call back! I was told decisions won’t be posted until 5 EDT, but that my application was reviewed! We just have to wait a few more hours!

Has anybody heard back yet? Please keep posting!

I was accepted, but I haven’t decided if I’m going.

Accepted, but I’m going to Barnard

I’m in need of some major advice. I’ve been accepted and it is my absolute dream school. I would be an American Studies major, something that is unique to Wellesley. As an interdisciplinary major, it incorporates all of my loves, English, Psychology, Consumer Science, and Law. However, it is 15,000 more expensive a year than going to Rice and it’s going to be a huge financial strain on my parents to go there. I have submitted a financial aid appeal but they are only giving me 9,800 dollars instead of the 19,000 that Rice is giving me. They are both great schools, but Rice isn’t “liberal arts” which I love because my main academic interest is American Literature. PLEASE help I have to make a decision by tomorrow.

Can you take out a Stafford Loan or get a job this summer to help with the costs? I always tend to be on the side of academic passion over finances, but it’s a very difficult decision.

Is Wellesley overall more expensive?

(In terms of aid, you are getting $9,200 more from Rice, so I just wanted to understand why Wellesley costs $15,000 more.)

If the bottom line is $45,000 more over three years, take a look at what your monthly payments would be to pay back such a loan.

What are your career plans, and what kind of salary are you likely to earn? Would such a loan burden mean you will be unable to buy a house, car, etc for years after graduation?

If such is the case, hopefully you will see the benefit to returning to Rice in terms of what it will mean to your life after you graduate.

I’ve been waitlisted, what do you suggest I do? Wellesley is my top choice. I would accept admission without hesitation.

@mariecc1 @fendrock Wellesley approved my financial aid appeal so I’m going there next year! It was just a mix up with my financial aid application.

That’s great news transfergal!

Will you be joining the class of 2015?

It’s a great class! (My daughter is also a member. :))

If so, your class color is yellow…

Hooray! Welcome to Wellesley!

Welcome to Wellesley - my D is also class of 2015 with fendrock’s D.

Congrats! Transferring to Wellesley was the best decision I ever made.

D applied as Transfer applicant and received a call this morning informing her that she has been admitted off of the Transfer waitlist.

She/we will need to make a decision by the end of the week! What an exciting bit of news!

Could you please tell me what your daughter may have done to help her get off the waitlist? i’m still waiting for a call. Wellesley is my dream. Please think it over carefully with her, because if it’s not her first choice, and she goes, she’ll be keeping others who really care from getting to go.

desimayali: It has been her dream school since high school as well. She did not do anything other than communicate by letter to admissions that she wanted to remain on the transfer waitlist for consideration. I think we read someplace that admissions’ goal is to have everything wrapped up by July 1st. She was thrilled to get the call this week and as soon as we receive all other relevant information, a decision will be made. My guess is that there is a 90% or more likelihood that she will attend. I hope you get in too!
