weltch (sp?) and the substance and drug free dorms

not sure if those are the correct names but i dont feel like looking it up

can someone who attends explain these dorms to me

are they popular/or do most people not want to go into them

and just any general info on them would be great

do many freshman live in them?

thanks?

Welch is 24-hour quiet, as opposed to other on-campus dorms which are nominally quiet from 10pm to 8am. Said quiet hours are rarely enforced in most dorms; I'm not sure how well they're enforced in Welch.

Henderson is the substance free one. Residents have to do some form of wellness program; I have no idea about the details and I'm too lazy to find out. They also, of course, have to swear off alcohol and drugs.

Both of these dorms seem to be quite popular; they filled up pretty fast during the room selection process.

would you recomment living in welch? or do you not know enough about it to judge?

My S was in Henderson frosh year and liked it. It was remodeled that year. The only reason he moved from there soph year was that he wanted a single and couldn't get one in Henderson because his room draw number was too high. He has been in London Terrace and Scobell since.

Nobody can get a single for sophomore year - the way Room Draw works, it just will never happen.
