Were the second wave of decision letters sent?

We are in Massachusetts

We were hoping for a big envelope today as my S is attending the GEAR interviewing event tomorrow.

Received acceptance package in mail today!! Letter was postmarked 3-11-11, I live in San Francisco Ca

MConklin

I am wondering if notification letters to British Columbia, Canada, would have been sent via regular mail or some form of express mail. Thank you and regards.

I got it in Virginia, and can confirm it says welcome to the university of rochester on it.

Hi, MConklin, I am an international student study in Los Angeles, is the letter also sent if I am on the second wave? Thank you!

Just came home from dropping my S off for the GEAR interview and his acceptance was in the mail box. Hopefully he will turn his phone on sometime today to see the message letting him know as he will be so thrilled.

Congrat! to all admitted.

Can anybody tell me the acceptance letter sent by first class or priority mail? I am still

waiting, if not, maybe next wave.

Thank you.

Anybody know how many waves there are in total?

Mike said there would be three waves: one in late Feb for CAP applicants, Renaissance Scholar finalists and a few international applicants; one sent out on March 11; one more to be sent out around March 22.

There will be acceptances in all three waves–so don’t panic if you haven’t heard from UR yet.

We won’t be home for the following two weeks. Can we call the office for the decision?

Yes, still plenty of acceptances going out!

march10success2… In some circumstances we can provide that information over the phone, BUT only if the letter is in the mail or has been delivered and you do not foresee being able to get to it soon.

I literally JUST got my letter in the mail!!! Today has been shockingly productive, this is my third decision in less than 12 hours… Nothing in here about money, though. If I had won a scholarship, would information have been in the packet? I’m a National Merit Finalist and thought I could get something from that…

I think information for merit scholarships and financial aid will be given on a later date.

Mike…S accepted in first wave. We were happily surprised when letter announcing Bausch and Lomb scholarship amount arrived shortly thereafter. He is also a National Merit Finalist (Rochester is his school of choice) and a Presidential Scholar candidate. Does the school offer any National Merit scholarship and when would we receive that information? Thanks!

National Merit Scholars are awarded a minimum of a Wilder Trustee Scholarship of $15,000 plus an additional $2,000 from the National Merit organization. Some National Merit Scholars are awarded higher scholarships, but the combined amount of $17,000 per year is our minimum commitment.

D got in!! We are in South of NJ. Stamped on Mar.15. and she is on her Disney senior trip now, will be jump!!! UR is her first choice. She also admitted by NYU yesterday.

Thank you Mike and everybody’s support on the way to apply RU

Congrats quailridgegirl! I’m sure your daughter is feeling a sense of relief. Good luck to her in making a decision.

MConklin–Regarding post #36–My D is a NMF and just received a letter from Rochester today offering her the $10,000 Dean’s Scholarship. Is this an error? Don’t want to sound ungrateful, but I was under the impression the larger scholarship was automatic. She did notify her admissions rep of her finalist standing.

So I live in NY, less than 3 hours from Rochester. I haven’t received a letter yet, so i suspect that I’ve either been denied or will my letter will be sent in the 3/22 wave. Does the UofR send acceptance letters to the less apt applicants in the 3rd wave? Or is that even a factor in the timing of receiving a letter?
