Were your ECs, awards and achievements audited?

I was told that only a handful of applicants have these things audited (i.e. asked proof of). How does the process go?

I would like to have everything prepared and know if I should have all my files and validations ready by the time I apply. Is it better to send them before being asked? I was just wondering if sending the information without being asked could give you some sort of advantage.

As an international transfer I don't have a guidance counselor so no throat-jumping please.

I have never heard of a single high school student being asked for proof of claims about themselves that they made on a college application.

I suppose if an admissions officer doubts a claim that is extraordinary, it would be so extraordinary as to certainly appear somewhere on the internet. If they claim to have been a finalist in the Intel science fair, a quick Googling can resolve that without asking the student for "proof".

i agree with denzera....not sure where you got your information from but i don't know of anyone who had to prove anything. Of course this does NOT mean that you should lie on your application.

Well up here for example in Montreal, students applying to law or medicine in McGill need time sheets from their volunteer work and other material. It's rather common so I thought I'd ask.

It's certainly not a question of lying (how deficient would one have to be) but just wondering if it would be advantageous to prepare those documents in advance.

Even if they ask, I'm sure they'll give plenty of time for you to prepare the necessary documents. That being said, I haven't heard of anyone being asked for evidence about his/her application.

Odds are they'd try to contact a school administrator or a supervisor for a job/volunteer position, rather than going through the applicant.

somewhat true....but only if you are AMAZING and are worth the time, otherwise if things are that questionable they might just reject you. (NO ONE better use this as an excuse on this site if they get rejected or i will flame the living hell out of you)
