Ever since high school started, I have kept a binder and filled it with certificates/transcripts/letters of recognition/etc. and I was wondering if I could mail this binder in with my application for next year when I apply. Well, can I, and if so what effect would it have over my application?

They don't want to see a bunch of letters of recognition/certificates. They probably won't have time to read it and it will probably be a hassle for them. Just mention some of the achievements (the main key ones) detailed in your binder and that will suffice. I don't think they need proof. They will trust in what you say to them.

absolutely dont send it.

babycakes is right, great that ur keeping that stuff but just mentioning it will suffice.

Yes, they need your perfect attendance award from 9th grade. Make sure you send it in.

Columbia is pretty strict about NOT sending in extra, unnecessary documents. They also make you choose your top couple of meaningful awards on the application. It's good that you're keeping record of your awards though.

I wonder what they would do to that binder if you were to send it in.
