Wesley House High Speed Dating (Friending)

<p>Wesley House High Speed Dating (Friending): Until 9PM, Wesley House, 2398 Bancroft Way, wesleyhouseberkeley.org, 510/549-1244.</p>

<p>Has anybody ever done this or heard about it? It sound interesting, and I may go try it out for fun if I don't have anything else to do, but I don't know how effective it would be...I always thought about meeting friends in the res halls, clubs, and classes...</p>

<p>this sounds pretty messed up, or at least somebody who’s in late 30’s or 40’s would do.</p>

<p>haha, yeah, well, I just didn’t want to force friendships…
is this event held every year? or is it new.</p>

<p>How long do you talk to someone anyway? How do you even become acquaintances with with someone in such a short time?</p>

<p>Probably what every convo will be like:</p>

<p>Person 1: Hey, my name’s _<strong><em>.
Person 2: Nice to meet you! My name’s _</em></strong>. What year are you?
1: Freshman! You?
2: Ohmygosh me too! What’s your major?
1: I’m intended _______.
2: Oh, I’m–
Announcer: NEXT!!!</p>

<p>ughh, so boring. now, if you asked a totally different and random question to each person, it may be amusing. I just don’t think a lot of people would want to go, but I guess it could be worthwhile. I wouldn’t expect to make any long-lasting friendships…</p>
