[li] General Comments/Congratulations/etc:: I am so stoked. I was stunned when i read the email because Wesleyan and Northwestern were my reaches. I had got into Northwestern the night before and thought the immanent rejection from Wes would damper my day. Well I got into Wesleyan and Colgate! So I am cloud 9 right now. But I really liked Wesleyan and it is definitely one of my top choices. Congrats to everyone who got in! And I am really sorry to those who didn’t. You guys have such great stats that I am honestly not to worried that you won’t find amazing schools.
[/li]

[/ul]**Other Factors: I did interview and visit the school which I am guessing really helped show my interest because they don’t have a supplement. So I really think that interest is important. **

Sherlock, I don’t understand your comment. It calls for a stern response, right now!
I graduated from Chicago (twice), but I don’t understand why any parent would not be proud to have a child go to Wesleyan. This year especially, I would think it is the most selective of all your schools, if that matters.

I sat in on a lecture when I visited Wesleyan with my S, and I can tell you, it was about as good as anything I’d expect to hear at Chicago (where the biggest strength is the faculty).

Now, I do think one could make a case that Chicago is the “best” of these schools by some standards (unless you want to study engineering). Yet I certainly would not wish it on every smart HS kid (including my own). It’s just not necessarily the right fit. At that particular school, fit is especially important if you are going to be happy and thrive.

So you should respect your parents, but if you really loved Wesleyan, that should count for something. I mean, congratulations! You got into 4 schools that are all excellent (even if not equally household words). However, they are sorta all over the map, literally and figuratively, of East-of-the-Mississippi, high-end schools. The next few weeks are the time to pay some visits (if you haven’t done so), talk to students, and decide which one best meets your needs. Then talk it over calmly with your Mom and Dad to convince them you have a good choice.

Recruited Athlete & Sport: nothing of note
Important ECs: Film Club (founder), a dozen music-related things, Drama, Environmental Club, NHS, volunteer tour-guide at local museum 60+ hrs
Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/etc: Ahhh! So happy!! I got into my other first-choice, Vassar, so this should be very difficult.

I would fill this in… But I have a strange feeling that I would be writing just for myself so. :stuck_out_tongue: haha… but, wow. I can’t wait.

Kato, come to Wes, if my suspicions are correct, Boardman Rd needs more representation at Wes, I’m currently the only one holding it down. Nah but seriously, PM me if you have any questions about OLL to Wes. But if you have four classes at Vassar under your belt, I’m sure you know what’s up. If I’m mistaken, then I apologize but Catholic + Vassar+ only AP US in junior year makes me pretty confident.

Status: ACCEPTED! (which is awesome, because I’ve been reading all the accepteds and everyone is pretty diverse, yet like me at the same time…)
