West Point Lodging Question

Has anyone stayed at the Econo Lodge in Highland Falls?

For A-day weekend I want something decent that is within walking privileges and the Holiday Inn Express in Ft. Montgomery is already full.

you mean there is lodging near highland falls???? ;)

(we had to opt for Newburgh on most visits.....)

We stayed at the Palisades Motel during A-Day 2004 weekend and found the rooms adequate. One of our rooms (I believe, the only one that was an efficiency) was a large, open room with a full kitchen, combo living/dining area with 2 double beds. It was great for all of us to hang out in one room while we were visiting our cadet. You might be able to request this room if it is still available and have the need for a larger room. I don't know if they have made any renovations to the motel since the name has changed, but we would stay there if we needed a room. Also, the Econo Lodge is about 1 mile from the Thayer Gate of WP, so the location is good.

cobia210,
Thanks for the information. I went ahead and reserved two rooms (for the five of us), one has a kitchen so that is probably the one you had. Sounds like this place will be just fine for our needs.

Is that the room right behind the "lounge" where they serve continental breakfast in the morning? If so, I stayed in the room also. If you can get it, it's absolutely huge. It's not at all a luxurious place, but the employees are very nice and happy to help with all the parent questions.
