@Honors:
I was really surprised too. For Ross I think I was lucky and it was one particular work experience of mine that got me through or maybe they really liked my essay, because my SAT scores are okay-ish. The person who is in charge of calling regional admits told me I was the second he knew from this region that got in so I am really really grateful for the acceptance. Wharton would still be awesome though. As for Stern I think its my supplement that kept me out. I’m horrible at poetry and I found it hard to put points across in 500 characters so my essays didn’t turn out that great. Either way Ross is my second choice after Penn so I guess NYU waitlist didn’t really make so much of a difference

I thought Ross school started sophomore year? Is Ross hard to get into from LSA?

Pre-admit acceptance is hard (pre admit is when you apply freshman year and you are guaranteed a spot in Ross provided that you get a GPA of 3.300 in your first year). Once you are in LSA its about 30% acceptance (external transfers from other schools is nearly impossible), but its kind of random. Reading through the decision threads of last year people with 4.0’s got rejected; seems like a lot of focus was put on trying to find people with a keen interest in business
