Wharton ED 2015 Chances

<p>I'm applying early decision to Wharton for a concentration in Finance and accounting. Here's a rough summary of my application and resume.</p>

<p>2110 SAT (740 CR, 710 M, 660 W)
30 ACT (35 M, 26 SCI, 28 W, 29 CR)
5.205/6 W, 3.952/4 GPA UW
6/350 Class rank- Public school, Texas
Captain of varsity tennis team (typically 1st or 2nd place in districts, then rank 3rd-5th in the toughest region in the state for the past 3 years)
Lots of volunteer work, especially with the poor
Strong essays (I have a master writer from Cornell helping me through these)
Academic UIL awards at the district and regional level in accounting
Job as an accountant for a small Special Ed. advocacy company, helped start it up and become an LLC, working on making it a 501C3
AP Classes whenever possible along with classes in accounting on my transcript
730-Math I, 780 Math II, 690 US History SAT II's
AP Exam scores- 5 ENG Lang and Comp, 5 US History, 4 European History, 3 World History
AP Scholar with Honors
National Merit Scholar Commended (204 PSAT)
National Honors Society
Random awards such as National Financial Capability Challenge Top 25% and smaller non UIL tennis tournaments.
Participated in United States Tennis Association Circuit
Had an interview with a Wharton alumni already, it went well (only problem was a hiccup involving investment banking and trading)</p>

<p>There are 2 complications with my application though:
-I dropped tennis 3 days ago, we finished the fall season (team tennis) and I was not planning on playing the spring season (individual tennis) so I could focus on my grades (spring season is VERY time consuming, miss 1 day of school a week and 1 weekend day for 12 weeks)--- Will this be a problem if my application said I was still in tennis when it was sent? The only place they will see I dropped is in my midyear and end of year reports. If they do have a problem with it, will I have a chance to explain myself?
-Not as much of a mess as the first, but I took AP Calculus AB when BC was offered only in the period tennis was occupying. I don't want to look like a slacker, how much of a toll will this have on my chances?</p>

<p>Please be honest, I can take a hit. I'll chance you back if you want me to, just leave a link with your reply and I'll try my best to get to you. Thanks.</p>

<p>sats scores are meeting the criteria for upenn
but the lower end of sat scores is usually for recruited athletes
those admitted for academia usually have high sats
I have the same concern about my scores
but they can’t just reject u based on your scores
the rest of your application seems very strong
but this yrs ED is the highest in upenn history 4557
so the % admitted ed will decrease
so this yr its esp challenging to get in
i hope i get in…im so nervous
dec 10th 7 days…ahhh
everyone posts stats and results here</p>

<p>Wait, how do you know the number of ED applicants for this year? I have a relative who works at the vet school, and she mentioned that the applicant pool was big this year, but she didn’t give me a specific number… nor did she indicate where she found that information.
I’m freaking out, ahhh I can’t believe we find out on the 10th! A ton of my friends applied early to other Ivies and from what I’ve heard, most of the other schools are sticking to the Dec 15 decision date. I’m not sure how I feel about finding out sooner…</p>

<p>Not to worry you…but here’s the official word from the DP</p>

<p>[Early</a> decision applications rise 17 percent | The Daily Pennsylvanian](<a href=“http://thedp.com/article/early-decision-applications-rise-17-percent]Early”>http://thedp.com/article/early-decision-applications-rise-17-percent)</p>

<p>Haha omg that did worry me! I was soo freaked out by that article. But, all is well; I got my acceptance letter yesterday! I’m so excited!!!</p>
