We all constantly hear that 2300+ is good for the Ivies which is all fine and dandy unless you took the ACT. Ergo what is the ACT benchmark score to be considered competitive for the Ivies?

The websites usually say their middle ranges are 29-33, depending on the Ivy. The score that could be considered "competitive" will depend on the strength of your academics and extracurriculars. I'd guess (total estimate here) that maybe a 30-33 can get you into the ballpark and earn you some consideration.

For HYPMSCB I'd say 33. For Columbia, Cornell 'lower ivies' a 32...maybe 31.

In "HYPMSCB", what's the B?

Brown.. haha. I know it's not usually put with HYPMS but for some odd reason its stats requirements seem a bit more stringent than those of the other lower Ivies.. I'm not sure.

Ahhh. =P I didn't really get that from Brown... my friend got in with an only okay GPA and a 2100 SAT. But he had REALLY great ECs.

Depends on which college you are talking about.
