What After-school activities/Clubs Do You Go To?

Wow guys. I never do anything after school ( used to run track freshman year). I’m a stay at home away from school kind of guy.

I have played 5 different school sports (football, basketball, baseball, XC, and will be doing track). Freshman year I played football, basketball, and baseball. Sophomore year I played basketball and baseball. I started XC this year as a junior and was good enough to be chosen as a league all-star and captain for next year, that was a good niche to find. I got cut from basketball and I am giving up my meh baseball skills to run track. I get paid to work the scoreboards for home basketball games.

I tutor 3 times a week afterschool and I serve on Student Council. I serve on the leadership board for our community service club (only morning meetings and weekend events). I try to go to debate club when I can but I don’t have much time usually. It’s really informal at my school, there’s no interscholastic team and we just pick a topic every week and divide into two sides and take turns arguing. It can be a pretty bad format sometimes but I like that it’s casual and not too serious.

I teach kids piano who can not otherwise afford a teacher.
I write for my school’s newspaper.
Planning to join the two literary magazines.
I’m also in the “constructed languages club.” It’s the most ridiculous club ever.
I’m in an a capella group.
I’m a tour guide.
I’m in a rock band.
I’m also in chorus.
Winter: squash.
Spring: softball.

I think that’s all!

I’m Vice President of Student Council and a member of Interact Club. I’m in the Spanish Club and Spanish National Honor Society. I’m in the Drama Club (musical) and I’m a first soprano in Harmonettes (select singing group). I’m also on Prom Committee since I’m a junior.

I’ve got a pretty diverse range of groups, but they tie in what I like (government, music, culture). I wish my school had a debate team, but we don’t.

theater (musicals)

chamber orchestra

sci oly

math team

robotics

track

volunteering @ hospital

research @ hospital

THEN go home, do hw and self study calc bc. <3
As you can see, I do (too much?) science stuff. But I like it, so whatevs. (:

-concert band playing tuba(might double up in symphonic band when I am needed)
-marching band
-Forensics(Congress)
-Science Olympiad
-Junior Classical League(Latin Club)

Somehow, I feel like I don’t do enough.

Oh wow!!! Debate seems to be very popular. So is sports. How do you guys manage to do your homework after all of your after school activities!!!

^^ Who says we don’t stay up till 4 in the morning every night…

LOL…do you have block scheduling?

Symphonic band (trumpet)
worship band (lead vocalist)
I give bible studies on Wednesdays.
I babysit kids on Fridays.
I volunteer with kids on Sunday mornings.
I’m a member of:
National Honor Society
BETA
HOSA
RELATE (I teach classes on relationship education- trying to put an end to violence within relationships)
marching band(trumpet)
track(1 & 2 mile)

Sometimes I don’t, I’m sort of a B student unlike most on here. I also had a study hall all of Junior year, and for second semester of this year. With the new block schedule that was implemented this year, that’s a 90 minute study hall every day, which is nice and lets me get a lot of work done. I also can usually bring it to scout meetings without much trouble, or to rehearsal and do it during parts where I’m not onstage.

I definitely think that block scheduling is helpful…

Block scheduling helps with homework too…

Debate (LD), member of an acting company, assistant directing a musical, piano (learning Beethoven sonatas), and dance class.

I feel like that’s nothing but ah well.

Cool…what does LD mean?

STEP (Science Technology Entry Program) (science bowl team member)

I only play school sports sporadically, (track freshman year, soccer sophomore year- they’re really not my thing), but I also started a community recreational quidditch league (for muggles of course); a friend and I founded a school club that integrates the student body with the administration and the local government, I’m in a STEM club, I do Model United Nations as well as Mock Constitutional Convention, I’m in the school play this year, and in my free time my friends and I make/sell tshirts and tape/edit local plays and productions. :)
