what are my chances after a defferal from Northeastern University?

So I was deffered from Northeastern University's early action pool. I am a little discouraged but I know all hope is not lost. I'm looking to be a computer engineer and my credentials are as follows: 100.45/100 weighted GPA, 2130 SAT score, 5/187 class rank. I received a 29 on the ACT but did not report it as I felt it would be better to just include the SAT score as the ACT score is not where it should be in my opinion. This year I am in 5 AP classes and am taking 6 tests. It is certaintly a much greater workload than previous years (although those years weren't easy by any means) so I feel my performance in those classes could be a factor in the decision. As of right now, my lowest grade in the classes is a 90. A friend of mine was accepted with lower GPA, SAT, and class rank than me so I know my credentials are at least good enough. I also work 5 days, 27 hrs/wk and am maintaining these grades. I have only once gotten an 89 in freshman year and since have gotten all A's in honors and AP classes.

Some things I plan on doing in order to improve chances are retake the ACT and report community service as that is something I did not include but now realize I should have as Northeastern is big on that. Also the previously stated report of my midterm grades.

So, realistically, what are my chances of turning the defferal into an acceptance? And what should i do to improve those chances? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just got deferred too and the wait for regular decision notification is going to kill me because Northeastern is my top choice! My grades and test scores definitely aren’t as good as yours, I have a 4.11 GPA and a 1730 on the SAT (I’m not great at timed tests), but I studied abroad in Germany for my junior year which I hope helps me a lot in terms of setting apart my application. Anyways, I’ve been doing a little research on it and I guess there isn’t a whole lot we can do now other than send in first semester grades and wait it out. From what I’ve read, they’ve over accepted EA people these last few years and didn’t have enough spaces for RD people so now they’re deferring a lot of EA applicants so they have enough open spots and can make sure they accept everyone they want. I guess just try not to stress too much about it and know that there is still a good chance for all of us who were deferred! Good luck!
