What are my chances at UTexas-Austin OOS

Do I have a prayer in the world that might get me into the University of Texas-Austin out-of-state? :

Naples, Florida
Hispanic Male
Class Rank: 21%

SAT: M- 720
CR- 640
W- 730
Total: 2090

E.C.: Sports Editor of School Newspaper
Captain of Varsity Swimming and Track
Spanish and National Honor Society
Attended People to People Leaders Summit, Outward Bound, and two foreign language study abroad programs
Very involved in Church Youth Group

Awards: National Hispanic Scholar
AP Scholar with Honor

Yes, you have a good chance of admission. Go for it.

I'd say you have about a 50/50 chance...have you considered UF? It's much cheaper for you and pretty comparable to UT.

Hispanic with those scores- much better than 50% chance!

I am not considering UF on account of my extreme dislike with Gainesville. Austin is a much more vibrant city and probably a better place to learn the ropes of my desired major, economics. Because of my status as a National Hispanic Scholar, if I am accepted to UT I can pay the cost of in-state tuition plus I'd receive a scholarship of $1,000/yr, so it would be just as cost efficient as attending UF.

MomofWildChild,
Texas certainly isn't at a loss for hispanic students...
(17% Hispanic)

It doesn't have that many with the kind of scores the OP has.

I think it is 4% from out of state. This is because Texas has to admit so many students due to the top 10% rule. It is VERY hard to get in out of state.

******bump

with 21% class rank and being out of state, plus good but not great SATs I would put it on your list as a match or possibly even a slight reach. definantly don't consider it a safety
