What Are My Chances At Uva?? Help!!

Legacy (Dad, Grandfather, Mother, Couisin went to UVa)

UVA has always been my number one choice and wrote extremely good essays and have incredible recommendations from 3 alumni teachers and community mentors

My GPA may be a little low, but I think my classes make up for it...Gov. School and 10 AP/Dual Enrollment courses in high school...

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME POSTS!! any info. helps!! Be honest...Thanks!

that act score will definitely hurt you. have you taken the sat's. and is your 3.6 uw or w?

Your ec's and rigorous courseload will definitley help out along.

I'd say you've got a decent shot due to instate/multi-legacy status

I would still label it as a high match/ low reach though. I hope you're applying to more schools than just UVA

I definitely am...W&M..Mary Washington..JMU...and maybe Tech although I really can't stand their school!! ha..

Tech owns you!!! Haha

As for UVA, the fact you are legacy in several respects is great, a few of my friends got waitlisted due to the fact they weren't legacy when people who were legacy with worse grades got right in.

Stats seem a bit average/maybe slightly low but your EC's are a pretty big boost.

I would say due to your connections and the fact you are legacy at an increasingly legacy-based school, and your impressive and diverse array of extra curricular activities that you have a pretty good shot at getting into UVA, but tech still owns.

Good luck =P
Mike

haha yea I see what you mean...what do you mean by Tech owns me..you mean the fact that tech is easy for me to get into??
Because I feel with my ECs and grades it's pretty freaking easy to get into..I would never ever go to Tech though..:)...

I think you have a pretty good shot especially if not a lot of people from your county apply. It'd be tough if you were from Fairfax Co.

yea...a lot of people from my county ARE applying maybe 15, but only 1 other than me are applying to Engineering program...
I feel like I have a good chance, but I could be way off course

15 isnt a lot at all. At my school alone, over 150 kids are applying
