What are my chances for CUNY/SUNY schools?

Colleges of Interest: Temple University; SUNY Stony Brook and SUNY University at Buffalo; CUNY colleges: City, Brooklyn, Baruch, Hunter, and Queens.

Currently a senior in Pennsylvania.
High School: Public.
Intended majors: Political Science/Government and International Affairs.

Academics: 6 AP courses total (World History-3, Language & Comp-4, Chemistry-uhh); senior year: Statistics, Literature & Comp, US History).
Going to self-study for both Gov't & Politics exams and AP Calc this year. Maybe Bio also.
Took a total of 5 accelerated academic courses throughout 10th and 11th grade and 5 Honors courses in 9th grade. Got HS credit for algebra 1 and Spanish 1 from 8th grade -- other than that, never had any "core/regular" courses in high school.

Electives: Adv. Music Major, Adv. Photography, Intro to Graphic Arts, Intro to Poetry, World Class Beats, Theater 1, 2D Art 1, Foundations of Psychology, and Piano class 1 and 2.

GPA - Unweighted: 2.70
GPA - Weighted: 4.7 out of 7.
Class Rank: top 15% or somewhere along there...
Class Size: 775

I know my GPA is pathetically low for someone who seems like they should excel... I just procrastinate, slack-off, never took schoolwork seriously, bad home life, etc. However, I DO apply myself when I am motivated to do so; I get low grades in AP courses but study for and pass the exams when it's the opposite for my peers.

SAT Score:

1st time:
CR:600 M:560 W:540
1160/1600.
1700 total.

Aiming for 1900 composite for Oct. exam. Haven't taken SAT II tests yet.

Extracurriculars:
School's orchestra (cello) for one and a half years.
Plays piano (going to independently study soon), guitar, and drums.
Member of GSA club, Latin club, Science Olympiad, art club, and music club.
Did some stuff with photography.
I don't currently have any volunteer hours as my parents are very strict about weird things but I will be able to volunteer my heart out soon.

Also, how do colleges feel about seniors only having 3 academic courses (all AP at least)? All I have to do is drop this one accelerated Anatomy and Physiology course and I can leave mid-day to do volunteer work/get a job etc.

Based on all of this, what are my chances of getting into -- and possibly getting the separate Honors program (not MHC) -- at these schools? I know my GPA is horrible but I am confident I can improve my SAT scores and my rigorously well-rounded transcript can be somewhat impressive, right? I'm hoping that adcoms can see that the grades from my AP courses do not reflect my AP exam scores at all and maybe I can explain special circumstances.

Temple: Reach
Stony Brook: High reach
UB: Reach
City College: Match/High match
Brooklyn: High match
Hunter: Reach
Queens: High match
Baruch: Reach

Are you sure Arizona State or Missouri isn’t for you? Or, alternatively, York College (within CUNYs)?

Hunter is literally a match for everyone. My sister got in with no APs or honours classes. Her GPA was also similar to yours with basically no extra curriculars. Write a great essay!

There is no way Temple is a reach school for me – My SAT scores are higher than the average. Stony Brook can be a high reach because my SAT math score is just a few points lower than the minimum average and my GPA falls into the 1% range. I don’t think UB is a reach since my SAT score is on par and my GPA isn’t too bad for them. Well, my only chance is if admissions can look for more than just academic stats. Thanks for the input!

You said that you had a low GPA… if you had 3.1 then Temple wouldn’t be a reach anymore.

Hmm, there is a trend chart for people with similar stats as mine who still got accepted. I think the 2.7 is my cumulative GPA, so it could be higher if only my academic classes were calculated. Do you know if colleges will take my weighted GPA and convert it to whatever?
