<p>Right now I am a sophomore in highschool and my freshman year went really bad. All my years up to freshman year, I was a straight A student. I had lots of events that happened in my life last year that brought me a step back. Also I was very overwhelmed with all the work that came this year. Now that I am a sophomore, I have picked myself up and have put everything behind me with my best foot forward. So do colleges focus that much on freshman year oppose to sophomore, junior, and senior?
Freshman GPA
1st semester: 1.5
2nd semester 2.5
I was captain of my JV cheer team and on ASB (leadership) freshman year.
I am now in online school where I take two classes at a time, so I have both As in my math and physical education class. And I am planning on getting a 4.0+ this year. Also the next two summers (before junior and senior year) I will be going to college summer programs. I also am starting to volunteer at my local hospital. I am also going to become a part time student my junior and senior year at Standford online highschool. I have the passion and drive to be the best I can be and college is the only thing on my mind right now because it is so important to me.
The colleges that I would really love and strive to attend are all UCs, Stanford, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, etc. I also have family members who have attended Brown University and UCLA.
If I get 4.0+ GPA the next three years, on top of volunteer and extracurricular work, while going to Stanford online school, do you think I have a good chance of getting in the schools that I want to go to? Also, I am taking the PSAT this semester so I will update with my scores when I can in the upcoming months.
