I'm currently a high school junior and already thinking ahead to next year and college. I live in North Carolina and have been thinking about my options for college and I think NC State would be one of my best options. I have a weighted GPA of about 3.8 and an unweighted GPA of about 3.33. My class rank is in the top quarter. I'm a 3 year member of DECA (i also won a medal at states), I'm in National Honor Society, other school clubs, play recreational sports, and have a job. I have over 100 volunteer hours over the past 3 summers. I'll be a second generation college student (my sister is one year older than me.) I take all honors courses and 1 AP class. I'm looking to major in some type of Business Administration/Sports Management since I someday hope to work in an MLB Front Office. My SAT score the first time I took it was 1500 (I know thats bad) but I plan to take that again and get it up to at least a 1750. I took the ACT but I am waiting for my scores back still. I go to one of the better schools in CMS, Hough High. What are my chances of getting in??

Def. need to raise your SAT and maybe add some AP or dual enrollment classes to your schedule for senior year. When you apply to NCSU you are applying for the College that your major falls under. The College of (business) Management at NCSU is very difficult to be admitted to. Your current stats wouldn’t get you in. You would have a better chance applying to the College of Parks,Recreation&Tourism Management which includes the sports management major. It’s an easier admit than College of Management.
Be sure and have some safety schools on your list too.
