Okay so I have a 4.0 GPA, class rank of 1, SAT score of 1570(out of 1600) and SAT Subject scores of 800(Math Lv2), 800(Physics) and 700(Literature).
Assuming I have amazing EC’s and amazing essays, do you guys think I’ll be able to get into an ivy league school? Will my academics anyway be a factor in pulling me back? Do my academic numbers fulfil ivy requirements?
You meet the threshold of academics and test scores. now what matters is your essays, LORs, ECs, interviews (at some schools) and the personal characteristics you portray.
Ohh great. Thanks for responding btw!
Most likely, dependent on what Ivy you’re going to. Each of them look for very different things beyond grades, as I’m pretty sure they receive plenty of applications with perfect/near perfect GPAs and test scores.
You can’t say “assuming I have amazing ECs and essays” because those are just as important as your academics so you can’t base your chances just off that.
@HarvardBound50 yeah I know, I just meant whether my academic numbers ticked the required boxes for an ivy league admission. So like, do they?
Your academics seem fine, but I have seen people get into a whole bunch of ivy leagues without complete straight A’s, they were doing amazing things outside of school. However there have also been people who have those GPAs and scores yet have been rejected from a lot of private schools. You can’t generally ask if your academics meet the mark because it depends on everything else
@HarvardBound50 Ah yeah. I get what you’re saying. The process is unique for each individual. Thanks a bunch man!
