I am extremely interested in going to Boston University as it is my dream school.
Currently, I am about to be a senior in high school. I have a 3.3 gpa at the moment, but I am hoping to bring it up to a 3.5 by the application deadline. Also, my sat scores are above average at the moment, but I am definitely retaking it in hopes for a better score. I am involved in several activities and volunteer outside of school, and I also hope to become an NHS member.

Throughout my freshman and sophomore year, my grades suffered due to medical reasons (treatment for anorexia) so do you think that would be taken into any consideration at all? I don't want a pity card, just a question.

Overall, what are my chances?

So far it sounds like a reach. Maybe provide some more details-- what was your SAT score and extracurriculars?

Yes, it will be taken into consideration- though I can’t say how much help you’ll get.

a 3.5/2250SAT will be competitive. It’ll come down to your essays…try to weave together your struggle with anorexia, a renewed sense of academic priority, and why BU is your dream school.

The first and only time I took my SAT I got a 1600, which I am aware is low, but I do hope to increase it. As far as extracurriculars, I’m in the literary magazine, newspaper, and fashion club at my school as well as stage crew (senior year only.) In the past I’ve done cheerleading, and I plan to volunteer at my local animal shelter and soup kitchen.
