What are my chances of getting into NYU?

So I didn't do so hot in high school I received a 3.0 GPA in high school and started school at a community college in California, I attended SBCC then transferred to Santa Monica College. I just want to know what my chances are to get into the following schools. My stats are as listed-

I currently have a 3.5 GPA that will be raised to a 3.7. I am attending my second year of college so I still have tons of time to boost that up. I received a C in my algebra, stats and english 1 classes, but have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout the last 2 semesters, and will continue to do so.

I volunteer in many organizations like the Los Angeles Film Festival, Interact, and Fiji USA. I am applying for a job currently so I will have work experience.

In college I have participated in the theater club, glee club, philosophy club, and italian club. I can speak punjabi, malay, hindi, urdu, and read and write arabic.

for highschool i have been in-

Varsity tennis, varsity track, soccer, theater, interact, writing club, and youth and government. I had a 3.0 in highschool and my SAT's are average about 1700. For some reason I cannot access my SAT scores, do they expire after a couple of years?

If I need to include anything else please let me know.

So these are the schools I am thinking of applying to for a political science major.

New York University
Boston University
Stanford University
UC Berkeley
Georgetown
Boston College

I am planning on going to grad school if there are any better options for a poly sci major please let me know. If there is any way I can improve my stats to get into my top schools (NYU or BU) please let me know as well. I want to thank everyone in advance!

Stanford has great financial aid, but it’s a high reach for anyone in transfer. NYU and BU have very poor financial aid; perhaps you should add American or some UC that isn’t Berkeley.

best chance at BU- sorry but I don’t think you have a chance at Standford but you never know

NYU’s application has closed for this fall…way back like almost in January or something…

@_@

Most of the schools have competitive applicants and high requirements to be admitted. There is a backdoor into NYU if you don’t got the nerdy GPA or genius test scores.

NYU-SCPS’s deadline is Thursday next week and has a rolling acceptance. You’d probably get in as long as you completed the application and had strong essays that are written decently. They do reject 1/3 of applicants though but I’ve heard really interesting people get accepted and many do very well. It is ridiculously expensive as usual and the online program is no exception. My GI Bill would cover it though. I’ve heard it’s a very good education and their real estate bachelors as well as their hospitality management major are both extremely underrated. Someone also mentioned that most all employers will not care if you’re not coming from CAS or Stern. They see only NYU.

I’m applying for NYU-SCPS McGhee. Hoping to get their global leadership and international business major. Submitting the application by Friday. I had a 3.0 GPA in high school like you and dismal SATs as well as ACT scores. My college GPA is sorta better.

Well I won’t be applying until next fall, I have only completed one year of city college thus far and was wondering if there is anything I can do to make my application as competitive as possible. and thank you all for the feedback!!

Submit your application by December this year if you want to go Fall 2014 and possibly get accepted. Their deadline is way way way back. NYU is a very diverse, talented and cultural school. I’d make sure ECs and volunteer work show that even if you’re not in high school anymore.

I don’t think the classes matter too much just as long as you have a 3.7 or higher and 1900+ on SATs or 28+ on SATs. This is if you’re not applying to SCPS.

I have to complete a resume, job history and background accomplishments as well as mini essays explaining stuff and a personal essay. Recommendation letters too from professional references of work or academic teachers willing.
