What are my chances of getting into UT Austin?

So i am a junior in high school at a school that is very competitive. I am in the top 16% of my class and i have 4.24 GPA on a 5 point scale. I have taken all PreAP and AP classes for the most part except athletics and never made below an 85. I have taken the ACT once and i got a 30 but i will probably take it again to get a higher score. I have over 50 volunteer hours and am in a community service organization along with National Honors Society. What are my chances of getting into UT Austin and also what are some easy majors to apply for if it comes to that?

Oh and i am in state as well

I think you are going about this wrong. Decide what you want to major in and then apply to schools that have a good program in it. The goal of your life should not be just getting into UT Austin but what you are going to do for the rest of your life. With your ranking and scores, UT is a reach for you. Apply but also apply at other schools that would be considered more of a safety for you and, again, have a good program for what you want to study.

I agree, find what you are interested in and see which schools are on top for your major.
It is very hard to get into UT if you are not an auto admit.

Majors like Computer Science, Business and Engineering are the most competitive and hard to get in. Some would say there are some majors easier to get in at the College of Liberal Arts. When you apply you give them 2 majors you are interested in. I would use as your second choice a major you think you have better chances getting in then one of the very competitive ones.
