Hi, I got accepted for business econ to UCLA for fall 08.

I was wondering what you guys think my chances of UCLA rescinding my admission is if I get a C for my final semester? I've never gotten a C before, but I'm afraid my grade in Calculus 2 this semester might drop.

Here are my stats
GPA: 3.65 (currently, 3.7 during application)
TAP certified
ECs: a lot

PREDICTED final semester grades:
Accounting- A/B
History- A
Humanities- A
Calculus- C?

Short version of my question:
Would getting a C during my final semester before transferring get my admission to UCLA rescinded? Thank you.

Right now, I think I might get a D or F in my class (which by the way, has absolutely nothing to do with my major) I'm just taking it to learn some new things.

The thing is, I'm taking it Credit/ No credit. So, if I do get a D or F, I'll end up with a no credit. Which is pretty much like FAIL in Pass/Fail.

Would that affect my admission? On one hand I'm really worried because it's a fail. but since it wouldn't affect my GPA at all, I wonder how that would work.

Well, basically I can say that the class is purely useless in terms of IGETC or any requirements. I only took it for self-learning purposes. It's an art class by the way. But I never counted on my art being quite so terrible, and the teacher is really strict on grading.

I should have dropped the class when I had a chance too. It's too late now.

I'm trying to salvage my grade as it is, but it's really hard. But I'd hate to think that I wasted 2.5 years of efforts getting my 3.98 GPA to get rescinded over an art class that I failed. That would be really ... terrible.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it unless you get a D or an F. Someone I knew screwed around during her last semester at CC and got like C's in most of her classes. I think they just ultimately put her on academic probation for her first quarter at UCLA.

Think of it this way: Do you really think they are going to rescind that many applications and lose all that expected tuition money for each and every person who gets a C? Doubtful considering the fact that a large percentage of people leave their hard classes until their last CC semester and are likely to get more C's than normal. Don't stress...just do the best you can. :)

I'm also worried about my offer being rescinded.

The GPA on my application was a 3.55 and it will likely drop to about a 3.45 overall after this semester, as my GPA for this semester will be around a 2.75.

My grades will probabaly be:
Political Thinking - C
International Politics - B
History - B
Econ - B

My biggest worry is that UCLA admissions will rescind because I'm a pre-polisci major and my C is in a course for my major. Furthermore, the course I'll get a C in is one of the prerequisite courses for my major.

Do you think my acceptance is likely to be rescinded?

You think getting a C- is grounds for rescinding? I might get that in precalc this semester. If I drop below, I'd be willing to retake it this summer. You think that would fly? I'm going to UCSC btw, not UCLA.

ok, i acutally sent in my changes. and the committee cleared me with no probloem.

it was a little nerve wracking though, becuase during the review period (mine was about 3 days) your abilitiy to submit SIR disappears and is replaced with this short letter.
