I have a 3.5 GPA and a 1710 SAT score and plan on studying Computer Science

Unless you have a really compelling story, not very good. I hope you applied more broadly.

What was your course rigor? Don’t forget that your course rigor, extracurriculars, and essay are taken into account!

Current first year computer science major here. To be honest getting into the school of computer science is a crap shoot. I got in with a 3.86 UC GPA and a 1730 SAT score. Don’t let yourself get intimidated by all these people saying that they have above 4.00’s and SAT scores in the upper 1800’s-2000. Ive meet way too many people who cheated and manipulated their way to these GPA’s. Just trust the admissions office and make yourself look as compelling as possible. If you get in awesome for you, if you dont, you’ll probably get into UCR or UCSC (both of which are fantastic schools)

i’m so nervous to read all the comments. Can anyone chance my S? here are his stats:
SAT 2080, ACT 30, GPA w 4.03 / uw 3.75. Allied for Electrical Enginering (second choice is Computer Enginering)
Lot of AP classes. Some awards, some ECs.
UCI is our ultimate choice. But also applied for UCLA, UCSD and UCSB. Haven’t heard from none of them.
