Right now I'm focusing on just these two schools. I'm a junior in high school, so I'm not rushing things exactly. But also want to pick a school and feel comfortable about it. UCLA I know is a stretch, I'm mainly thinking about Indiana University Bloomington. But will be retesting and stuff like that. So let's get into it.

Status: Junior
School: Not from California or Indiana (Out of State)
GPA: Unweighted - 4.0 (all A's so far), weighted - not sure
ACT: 22 first time, 26 second time (will test at least two more times)
SAT: Haven't taken. Is that much of a problem?
Honors/AP/IB: No IB. Our school doesn't offer it and if I didn't get on the internet, I wouldn't even know what that is. Our school is "in the sticks" and very poor. Pretty pathetic in many ways. I have taken all Honors and AP classes I can (so far, 4 honors, 2 AP).
Extra Curricular Activities: Beta Club (not very active in it), Scholar's Bowl/Academic Bowl, Forensics/Debate class (Freshman year, our school no longer offers it), and Band. I've gotten 1st chair at a few band clinics, and placed 19th out of 51 alto saxes in the Mississippi Lions Band auditions. Will be auditioning again this year and senior year. No community service.

I don't have all the fancy ECs that I've seen others have. I live in a town of 200 people and go to a school with 600 people (in a different town). Not much going on, but I'm sure I've exceeded the boundaries of my high school. (They try to prepare the students to make it to the local OPEN community college.) My school has pretty decent core classes though, so I've managed to do well at the ACT. Thanks to anyone who responds.
