Hi, can you chance me? I’m only in ninth grade, And assuming I keep these things up, I want to know if I can get in.
Grades:
I have a 4.0 right now and I’m hoping on get a 4.8 by 12th grade. (I only have a 4.0 because there’s no options for APs in ninth grade)
Tests:
I’m already studying for my SATs and I’m going to start getting tutored professionally for it over the summer. I’m planning on getting a 2400
I’m planning on getting mostly 5s and maybe one 4 at most for my AP tests.
I’m going to take 2-3 SAT 2s and get 750-800.
I’m going to try to be a Junior Merit Scholar.
Extra Curriculars(I’m going to try to get leadership roles in all except fencing and volunteer work because there’s no leadership positions for those):
I fence 4 hours a week.
I’m in Youth and Government.
I’m in the Feminist Club.
I’m in Girls’ Learn International.
I’m in Health Food Club.
I’m in the African Library Project.
I’m going to try out for the student newspaper next year.
I volunteer with special education students.
I’m going to start a school journal.
I’m going to start a Speaker’s Bureau that gets speakers to come and debate at my school.
I’m going to start a Jewish and Muslim Coalition for Peace Club.
I’m going to volunteer at Planned Parenthood and/or the Special Olympics over the summer.
Major Things I’m Going to Try and Do:
Get a statewide position in Youth and Government.
Get some of my writing in at least 2 major publications.
Get to speak at The Commision on Status of Women.
Other Stuff That Might Affect My Chances:
I go to public school.
I’m a legacy for Barnard. (My mother went there.)
So can you tell me if these colleges are a match, a reach, or unattainable?
Oh and for some reason I forgot to put in Student Court; I don’t have the greatest memory when I’m anxious. I’m really nervous about getting into college.
Just keep working hard and keep your positive spirits up. There will be so many things out of your control in life even though you are planning to get/be/achieve so many things. For now, keep working and your chances for these schools will increase!
Some suggestions: Don’t have too many ECs that are all over the map. Fine several you really enjoy and focus on them. Demonstrate interests in those schools however you can. It never hurts!
It is way too soon for this. You have no idea what your grades are going to be or what test scores you will achieve. “I’m planning on getting a 2400” is something any naive high school freshman can say.
Give it a couple of years, work hard, and then ask this question.
Hahaha please don’t be one of those stuck up college students. Maybe you’ll learn one year that things don’t go the way u plan (especially that 2400 sat). Btw if u actually knew your collegeboard updates, they r making a new sat out of 1600 so good luck.
Please come back and make another one of these your junior or senior year when you actually get some experience.
You honestly don’t seem passionate about anything because you’re just doing it for college. Schools see right throuGH that so good luck ewith your 15 leadership roles.

I am sorry to tell you that you may not be able to get 2400 in SAT, unless you take it before next March. It is going to change the score system that would not give a 2400 max composite score.
I’m sorry this is just so ridiculous. You can’t chance someone based on stuff they think they’re going to do. Do it. And continue to do it because colleges love consistency. You can not foresee a perfect sat score no matter how much prep you get. You can not foresee become a merit scholar what if you you the worst flu the day of the test- you only get one chance. What if you bomb some of those APs. No 4.8. Come back when you have actual numbers to present. A 4.0 is definitely on the right track though so keep that up.
