I love chemistry. I went to a summer program for 3 weeks at one of the above schools for chemistry and it was amazing! I am also a legacy at the same school (my mom and uncle went).

Not to throw a bucket of cold water on the legacy piece ( because many people here tend to view it as a big positive which in turn would make an acceptance more than "likely " ) but depending on which school is the legacy school … your app will be placed in the most competitive applicant pool outside of the FA pool . Think Arms Race on steroids and they can’t take everyone . I think it’s a good idea for all legacies to be prepared and remain very guarded. I told my kids the same thing even when they were 3G applicants at one school - and we’re very active alums… so I’m not trying to rain on anyone’s parade.

Your stats look good but no one can tell you that you’ll get in or not. You can have the most amazing stats on paper and still not be ready to operate independently at a BS. You can have less than stellar stats with a mid-80 SSAT and be the kid everyone wants- even at all the Top Five schools.

Hopefully you have used your interviews/ essays to express the desire to explore new things and to drive home readiness. All the best and good luck!

I am not usually keen on responding to “chance me” threads, but you seem very genuine and I just felt the need to let you know that you sound like a very good candidate. You were smart to apply to a nice range of schools as well. Best of luck!

Oh yeah, you are going to get into a number of those schools. Best of luck!

Out of curiosity, which of those schools did your mom and uncle go to?
