Hi :). I'm a community college student who is stuck between FSU and UF. My cousin went to UF and she said I will love it there. I just want to know from you guys what are the good things about UF.

SOME KEY THINGS:

MAJOR: Political Science and a minor in History
*Wants to pledge Alpha Kappa Alpha

Wants to stay on campus

I really appreciate any feedback thanks :)

kmobley no comparison UF to FSU is like comparing apples and oranges.

UF has more majors.
UF has a much higher national ranking.
UF has more resources.
UF has a very active Greek system.
UF has a stricter acceptance policy. Only the best students can become Gators.

So if you are accepted to both? Why choose the second class option?

“Only the best students can become Gators.”

^ LOL, not quite. I’m sure there are some crocodiles who shouldn’t have become alligators.

While UF pins in almost all academic/prestige, FSU has a closer bond amongst its students. A real community.

^agreed

If you haven’t realized yet, school and life is just a game. You figure out how it works, and exploit it. Getting A’s in most courses is SO easy. High school classes are laughable at how far some teachers will go to help you get an A in the class, or just pass the class in general.

UF’s prestige is a phenonemon that is a Florida thing. Not too many people across the country would place it at the same level as University of Michigan, for example. As well, the list above is also not entirely accurate as FSU has a very active greek scene. For the record, I am not an FSU grad. :)

It was rated #10 (out of 10) on the list for Douchiest Colleges in America.

football. i must know the wrong kind of 'noles, but none of the ones i know give a **** that they now have a good football team again.

visit and choose the one you liked more. unless UF is particularly strong in your subject area, the prestige bit really doesn’t make that big a difference. it wont make a difference if you’re just going for a plain political science major.

^^^^ now thats true

@Follow - Just curious, unless you attended both schools, how do you know that one’s student body is closer knit than the other’s?
