Hi there. Im a 2014 hopeful, and am preparing to write the essays for UM, and my only problem is that the applications for the high school class of 2010 come out in July. This is my question: last year's main essay topic regarded diversity - so, is diversity usually or always the topic you will be writing about? Or am I completely in the dark until this July?

Thanks!

I’m sure diversity will be on there. Don’t worry about essays right now; you’ve got plenty of time to do them. I did my essays in October and submitted my app in November (I didn’t make the early response deadline), and I got accepted in December (before some people found out for early response). Don’t fret too much about it right now. Just finish out your junior year and then start thinking about it.

Michigan hasn’t changed its essay topics much for the past 4 years.

Go with the interesting book essay. Gives you lots of choice.

i remember essays for this year came out in may
but they’re really not too big of a deal
