I'm a high school student interested in studying business in college, but there are so many different majors that pertain to or fall under "Business"! I've heard (from someone currently studying business in college) that I should major in Accounting no matter what field of Business i branch out to later...is this true? and if so, why is this?

Major in whatever interests you.

^Yes.

…

Just don’t major in management as an undergrad unless you really know what it is. Just because you major in management doesn’t mean you’ll be somebody’s manager. It’s not like in Star Trek where the guys in the red outfits boss around the guys in the Blue and Yellow ones(or the Yellow guys boss around the others if you are talking about the original series).

According to this forum/Wallstreetoasis: Accounting if you go to a non-target, finance/economics/math/engineering/physics if you go to Wharton or an ivy.

According to common sense/working professionals: Whatever you enjoy and you will work your tail off to be the best at.

You decide who is smarter.

I don’t know anyone who chose a major they really liked and are now unemployed or realized they really don’t like their career beyond classroom material…

Wait…
