What are the must sees while visiting?

Hi does anyone have any advice as I will be spending a night here sometime in April since I will not be able to go to the admit students weekend. What day of the week is the best time to come for a vibrant social/extracurricular scene? Am I basically on my own if I visit by myself?

We were there last week. My son cannot attend in April so we flew over during his spring break to check out the school and the area. He LOVED it!

We stayed at the Inn at Harvard. We walked around (everyone else does) and had dinner at a local hang out (from what we heard from some kids) Borders Cafe (mexican restaurant)

Have fun!

p.s. no you will not be alone. There are tours daily. Call and find out the times. They make you feel very welcomed

Hmm - this weekend looks like a lot of fun (Wu Tang + Gavin Degraw concert Friday afternoon... I'm throwing a party on Saturday).

In general, Friday/Saturday are the partying nights. There are interesting talks/performances/etc all the time.

Feel free to shoot me a PM when you figure out your dates, and I can let you know what's going on that I know of.

yenching lunch specials - kung pao chicken.

Here's a calendar of events on campus for this month:

Lonespot.org - Add or Find something to do at Harvard

go to pinnochio's pizza

I second the Noch's recommendation. It's on Winthrop St and JFK, very close to Harvard Square.

Charlie's is the only cheap place worth eating in harvard square anymore. In fact, it's the only cheap place to eat anymore.

False, two slices at Noch's runs you 4 bucks, and fills you up pretty nicely.

I third the Noch's recommendation, PS. If you come here you will eat at Noch's a LOT!

My son loves pizza, he'll love it at pinocchio's or noch's :)

Lots of new pizza places opening up soon as well -- Trata on Mt. Auburn and the Upper Crust on Brattle. Good place for pizza fans (and burrito fans -- filipe's, chipotle, qdoba, etc)

For the dessert minded Herrel's in Harvard Square has the best ice cream - be sure to get smoosh ins. (15 Dunster Street). And Burdick Chocolate is a wonderful upscale cafe serving incredible hot chocolate, wonderful pastries and delicious chocolate.

Other must sees? Corbusier's only building in America. (Carpenter Center). The Fogg - it's scheduled to close in June for a FIVE year renovation. So now's your last chance to see it.

Noch's is so good, I had it yesterday for lunch! It costs the same as a slice of Mazzio's at my HS and tastes a billion times better. Wow.

Also, my host showed me Saturn and the moon through the telescope on top of the science building, but you'd have to hook up with someone in STAHR to get access. It was really really cool.

Actually, H students do other things too besides eating :-)

I have telescope access! It's incredibly easy to get, just go through a 30 minute orientation.
