What are the requirements to get guaranteed full ride/full tuition to University of Texas at Dallas?

My friend who was top 25% of her class in Plano, Texas with a 32 on her ACT got a full ride to UTD with a computer science degree. I want to know if there are some requirements that guarantees a full ride to UTD. For example, a 1440 out of 1600 on your SAT guarantees you a full ride to the University of Alabama.

Google is your friend. Type in merit scholarships at UT Dalllas and you will find it.

The full tuition/full ride scholarships at UTD are not automatic. Google will show you the minimum stats you will need to qualify for a chance at one of them, however.

There is no guarantee. Each incoming class is compared against that particular class and the stats have been going up every year. My two older girls both got the AES Distinction scholarship. If my oldest had applied to to UTD two years later, she would not have received anything because the scores went up that much. If my middle had applied to UTD two years earlier, she would have gotten the Honors level instead of the Distinction level.

AES Program Eligibility
Award Factors:

SAT or ACT Scores
Class Rank
Grades in all coursework
Success in Advanced Placement, IB, or dual credit courses
Extracurricular and other leadership activities
National Merit status, National Achievement Scholarship Program recognition, and National Hispanic Recognition Awards Program honors
No specific achievement in any category of the AES award factors will guarantee a scholarship. The AES Program will examine each student’s record in its entirety.

The quality of our incoming freshman applicant pool also affects your chances of a scholarship. For the past few years, the quality of our entering class as measured by SAT and ACT scores has increased significantly. This has made our scholarships increasingly competitive.

The following are the average SAT/ACT scores for students who were offered an AES award in Fall 2013 and Fall 2014:

Achievement
Average SAT (Critical Reading + Math only): 1315
Average ACT: 30

Distinction
Average SAT (Critical Reading + Math only): 1405
Average ACT: 32

Honors
Average SAT (Critical Reading + Math only): 1510
Average ACT: 34

All Academic Excellence Scholarship awards are described in terms of the award amounts that students receive. However, more pertinent in assessing the value of an AES award is the amount of the average cost of attendance at UT Dallas that the award will cover. Our Financial Aid Office in conjunction with university cost standards provided by the US Government determines the average cost of attendance. The estimated cost of tuition and fees ($11,806), room and board ($9,597), and books and supplies ($1,200) for full-time undergraduate students during the 2014-2015 academic year at UT Dallas is $22,603.
