What are the top 3 colleges in your state?

Caltech/Pomona/Stanford (listed alphabetically.)

if ‘colleges’ includes both LACS and research universities, i’d say there’d be a three-way tie between Stanford, Caltech, and Pomona. Each is the best of their own type in the state: Stanford is the best non-specialized research university; Caltech is the best technical research university; and Pomona is the best LAC in the state.

Texas

Rice

Trinity University

University of Texas at Austin

Stanford

Caltech

UC Berkeley

Iowa

 1. Grinnell
 2. University of Iowa
 3. Drake University or Iowa State University

That’s a tough one. I’d probably say

Duke

UNC

But 3 could easily be either be Wake Forest, Davidson, or Elon.

For DC I’d say

1) Georgetown
2/3) GWU/American
4/5) Howard/Catholic
