What Are They Like???????

What are the public schools in your area like? B/c the ones here in Detroit are horrible. For example: Osborne Highschool which is a public school of course, has no morals to its school what so ever, so many shoot outs so many killings. :(

Are the public schools in your area like this? Or have they come close to something like this?

The public school that I go to, Greenwich High School... is not that bad. However, we've never had any shoot outs or killings, fortunately. There has been one threat this year... and over the course of the last four years, we've had a number of smoke/stink bombs. They dont come too close to that... however, I guess... now that I think about it, our high school really isnt that bad.

I can sympathize however, because we definitely know how it feels to be in that form of harm/danger.

My school is pretty okay. We have never had any shoot outs or killings or anything really violent. The only thing worth mentioning is a fire that happened about a decade ago.

My school is in the greater Rochester area of NY and it's definitely a great school, as are many of the high schools in the suburbs of Rochester. I can't really say the same for the city schools, though. Although the past few years have shown a rise in fighting, there haven't been any serious incidents that resulted in injury. Two years ago, there was a small fire started in a bathroom and last year we had a prank turned "bomb threat." That was more funny than annerving, though, because the SWAT team had to come and it ended up just being a box with some phone chords in it.
But all in all, my school is one of the safest I could hope for. I never feel in danger, and I think I'm getting the best possible education here.

My school is pretty small, and it is a pretty good school. We don't have a lot of problems with drugs or violence. A few drunken pranks. Last year, somebody drove through the bushes in front of the school, and two years ago, somebody decided to do doughnuts in the courtyard between the buildings.

The public schools here are not too great but I've seen worse. Corpus Christi high schools have day care centers at all their high schools due to high teen pregnancy rates and we are also stated as the second dumbest city in the United States by Men's Health. It's soooo easy to make it into the top 10% at our high schools (it's like making the top 50% at a normal HS).

ILoveAlliO, you go to greenwich high? lol Cause i was in Westhill High in Stamford.

Very overcrowded, very diverse, only 7 of the 39 schools in the county are good (5 of them being magnets), the rest are meh.

pretty good, pretty good teachers, not too crowded, not at all diverse (mostly new-money jewish) no bullying or drugs and stuff, very competetive atmosphere.

mine is preppy, rich, and competitive...

3.5=top 10% in the ones in my surrounding area. They are not competitive. I think you can be top 20% with a 3.0. They are insanely bad.

I go to a public magnet high school because the ones here in Chicago suck. Some have an ACT average of 14. =)

haha, somebody1 knows plenty about my hs

Not really no I don't. lol

aka pantsdowne

Oh okay yeah! :p
