What are your thoughts on...

I posted this in UNC CH as well. Basically, I got into both Wake and Carolina, and can afford neither. They're about equal in standing, and I am just waiting for an epiphany. In the meantime, what do you all think?

How could you have gotten into both already? Wake only has ED so you would have had to withdraw your carolina app?

what do you want to major in?

First of all, I got into Wake with its Direct Application. From the information I received from them, it was only available to NC students. It was due Nov 1st, got it back last Monday, and it's non-binding.
Secondly, I'm majoring in English. Not exactly something specialized that I can only get at one school. Thanks for replying-I'm leaning towards Wake, just based on what I already know about myself.

Have you already filled out the FAFSA and PROFILE?

We haven't got our tax information yet.

For an English major I would definitely recommend UNC, but it's all about where you would fit in best.

As far as I know, UNC CH has different (i.e much lower!) rates for in-state students. (I take it you live in NC based on a previous post.) UNC CH would be much more affordable then. And I've heard great things about their English program. But, like someone else said, it's your choice. Where do you think you'll fit in best? What has more of what you're looking for? That kind of thing. Why don't you visit the campuses (if you haven't already) and have a look around. Maybe that'll help you decide.

You need to wait until you receive your financial aid package from both schools so that you know your true cost of attendance.

I'm sure both schools have great English departments. I'd argue until my dying breath that Wake Forest provides a superior undergraduate education--in large part because you will never have a teaching assistant as your first year English instructor...

If you're in-state, Chapel Hill is significantly cheaper!
