What Books To Read During the Summer?

I have a summer assignment for school, which is to read 1 book of your choice (has to be for your age and around 150-400 pages).

I like sports and adventure books.

With that being said, does anybody have any recommendations? Please don't give me any ridiculously long books because I have to study for ACTs and complete summer AP assignments.

Ender’s Game is a good novel. It’s science fiction, really interesting, and my freshman English teacher made it extra credit reading.

I enjoyed every word. It’s a little long, but worth it and it’s an easy read - no hard vocab. :p.

^ Seconded.

Anything by John Green… maybe Looking for Alaska?

The Outsiders?

Something by Susan Beth Pfeffer like Life As We Knew It?

Life As We Knew It was a pretty quick read for me. I finished it in a day. It’s kind of a Sci-Fi book that is about an apocalyptic event and how it effects the life of this girl, Miranda, and her family.

Currently reading The Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time By Mark Haddon. Really enjoying it.

The Great Gatsby. It’s not that long, and it’s definitely at a high school level. It’s a good book.

Read the Hunger Games! I could not put down the book until I finished it!! At least search it up on google. This is being turned into a movie it’s going to be the next big thing!

Ctrl + F The Count of Monte Cristo NOT FOUND

Step up HSL.

HAHA, Ender’s Game… Brings back some memories, That is the ONLY good one in that series though… ahhh to be back in 7th grade (:

Srry, dblpost, BTW I’m reading Crime and Punishment right now if that helps. (going into 10th if that helps also???)

ANYTHING JODI PICOULT.
Love her.

Jon Krakauer.
I’m reading his books for summer reading.
His books are really good.

Into Thin Air is about him climbing Mount Everest.

Into The Wild is about a man going into Alaskan wilderness alone.

I just finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It’s not typical high school reading material, but it’s almost six hundred pages and a fantastic read!

I second anything by Jon Krakauer. Fantastic author. The Count of Monte Cristo is also fairly interesting. I enjoyed The Great Gatsby, which is a good idea if you want to read something short.

The Alchemist is pretty awesome if you’re into sort of philosophical, spiritual stuff.
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is great if you’re into satirical sci-fi.
those are my top books right now anyways :D
