What Chance do I have? UC Berkeley/UCLA

I'm applying as a transfer to UC Berk and UCLA (I have a TAG to Davis) for their impacted psych major...what are my chances?
If you got in w/ this major, what were your stats?
Can you think of anything that will make my application/ chances better?

GPA (when i apply): 3.68
GPA (after i update my fall 2008 grades): 3.75
Major: Psych
Essay: 9/10
EC: Psych Club, Several Honor Societies, American Red Cross Volunteer, Couple of Scholarships, CAL starting point mentorship program
Work: 1 year teaching after school enrichment programs to pay for education

anyone? :0-<

Any Tap for UCLA?

88% UCLA

80% Berkeley.

no TAP for LA, how late can an app sign up for one tho?

...assuming my ccc is on the list of TAP accessible colleges

I believe you can still sign up for TAP(provided your college offers it), you'll just have to take a higher concentration of honor courses in this upcoming year--it won't be that hard though.

First, will you have completed the prerequisites for the major? That is a primary consideration for the major. If you haven't done so, do that. The following is a list of the major prereqs for UCLA:

One course in each of the following:
* introductory psychology
* physical anthropology
* intraductory biology
* introductory physics
* introductory chemistry (or one year of high school chemistry with grades of C or better)
* introductory philosophy
* one quantitative reasoning course in statistics, finite mathematics, calculus, computer science theory, or programming in C++. (Statistics is strongly recommended as preparation for upper division work.)

Your GPA is at par with the average admitted GPA of this years psych applicants, a 3.67.

The UCLA program accepted 34% of it's applicants so if you maintain your GPA and complete IGETC and the lower-div requirements you'll be in sound shape.

As for Berkeley, the Department of Social Sciences accepted 25% of its applicants, but I suspect that as long as you complete the requirements and do the same that you do for UCLA you'll be in prime shape.

Your EC's and work experience seem to be more than sufficient for the transfer admissions process.

Good luck! And, Go Bears!

Thanks...yeah my prereqs for Cal and LA are gonna be done by fall 08

You have a pretty good chance at UCLA although TAP would have been very nice. For Berkeley it is more difficult to get in but I think the CAL starting point mentorship program will be a big plus in your application.
