I took AP Chem junior year and scored a 5. Should I take Organic Chem 151L?

yes, I think you should be able to recall anything you need from Gen Chem for Orgo

Generally yes, but there might be some exceptions depending on whether or not you're premed.

If so, then you need to bear two slight disadvantages in mind:

(1) You'll need two years of chem, so you'd take a year of biochem (or some p-chem) to make up for it.
--> This is only a slight disadvantage because frankly you'd want to take biochem anyway.

(2) Chem 23 would probably be a relatively easy A for you.
--> This is only a slight disadvantage because the freshman curve in orgo is somewhat more generous than the normal, sophomore curve.

(3) GenChem is very important for the MCATs.

With that said, I still recommend 151.

I am premed.

what about a FOCUS boy with a 5 in AP Chem? 23 or 151? POssible for 151?

ouch... that wouldnt be fun

I am planning on taking Chem 151L and Math 32L, EGR 53L, writing 20, and EGR 10. Is this doable?

Should I take Chem 23L instead?

23L has some advantages (it's easier than 151 and genchem is impt for the MCAT), while 151 has some advantages too (the curve is easier for freshman and it opens you up to take the MCAT earlier). Neither choice is wrong.

Does anyone know anything about the professor who is teaching orgo for freshman this year (Jiyong Hong)? I can't find any reviews on him. My reg window is tomorrow 7.13.
