What should I put for "college to apply" in the preliminary questions if I want to major in business? College of Literature, Science and Arts? Or something else?

I think when doing your application, I notice for those wanting to apply to three colleges a extra essay is required. Perhaps this will alarm them of your first choice.

University of Michigan undergraduate buisness school is Ross.

Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Pre-admit. You have to write an extra essay. You have to get into LSA first though. Meaning you have to apply through LSA.

Well, the business college is Ross. (I can’t believe you’re wanting to do business and you’ve not heard of Ross!?!) However you would apply to LSA with the prefered admit to Ross. How this works is that you would get into LSA, then you may or may not be guarinteed admission into Ross after your freshman year. If you aren’t guarinteed (only ~100 are, so it’s quite selective) you can apply to transfer after your freshman year.

Although its true that MOST people go through LSA, you can go through CoE also. You dont have to be in LSA if you’re a preadmit frosh year.

I’ve heard of Ross and I actually applied to it in the application. Thanks for all the answers. But in the college to apply section there are only LSA, College of Engineering, College of Nursing, etc. No Ross. Now it seems like, as one poster said, I should put LSA (getting into LSA before Ross). Sorry if my question is vague.

Yea you have to apply either through the CoE(College of Engineering), LSA(Literature, Science & Arts), the School of Music Theatre and Dance, or the School of Art and Design… You then have to write the extra essay if you are interested in being a pre-admit for Ross. On the application go to step 3. Choose the college you want to apply to(The four that I listed above). Then choose what you plan to study. After that there will be a line where you can select whether or not you want to apply to the Preferred Admission Program. Then you finish the rest of the application, submit the essays and complete the extra essay required for the Preferred Admission Program.

Hope this helps!

Good Luck and GO BLUE!

Put LSA. .
