I wish I had applied Stanford EA instead of Yale EA; I would've been rejected there, too, but I realize now that I wanted it so much more than I wanted Yale.

I also wish I had applied to Duke (I wrote it off as a 'Southern' school right away), and some more of the UC's.

I've moved on, though (as I should, since I'm finishing up my first year of university!), and I'm more annoyed that I didn't /pick/ some of my other choices over where I am now. ;)

Claremont McKenna/Pomona/Pitzer, Columbia (this is an extreme reach for me, but it has been my dream school for 6 years now), Brown, UChicago, McGill, and Hong Kong University. I was actually toying with the idea of going back to Hong Kong for college. (I was born there, but immigrated to the US in 3rd grade.) Oh well. If I still want to later on, I can always transfer.

Well.. there's always that what if.. and I agree with some of the previous posters.. Am I good enough for HYMPS? Even if I got in.. the likelihood of going is quite slim.

I applied ED1 to Wesleyan and am thrilled to be going there. However... I am a bit curious as to what may have happened if I'd applied to "more competitive" schools. I kinda wish I'd applied EA to Yale, and once rejected, ED2 to Wesleyan. Just to have some closure! :)

Caltech. It sounds like they are the meritocracy I thought MIT was. I almost certainly would have been rejected, but you "miss 100% of the shots you don't etc etc."

Mostly, I just regret the way I presented my application. I really understated my strengths. More broadly, I wish I'd decided I wanted to go to college earlier, and done some decent application-padding activities. I also regret deciding not to request another interviewer when it turned out my MIT interviewer was hostile towards me from "hello."

Still, I'm in an Ivy with a great reputation for my major, I've got nothing to complain about.

My condolences to everyone who was rejected from their dream schools.

Duke and Upenn.
It looks like most ppl, like myself, regret not applying to harder schools. I guess its that annoying little "What if???" factor thats bothering us now.

I think I would have had a chance at these relatively less selective Ivies. Instead, I have to agonize over a Princeton waitlist and I have no idea how it will turn out.

Princeton, because it is a great engineering school that focuses more on the theoretical. Maybe some US service academies their engineering is nice too.

I blew it off during my college search because I was looking for colleges to knock off the list and the 40% varsity athletes thing kinda turned me off. But now I wish I took a closer look.

middlebury- i travelled 3 hours by train for the interview, had a wonderful interview, got an excellent feedback from the admission officer i was in contact with....

and then..

just felt lazy, left it for the end, and then didnt feel like writing the essay...
