What colleges should I know about?

My academic record has not been very consistent and I have a pretty obvious downtrend on my transcript, though I’ve kept taking AP classes.

GPA: ~93-94 at a competitive public school
SAT: 2360
SAT II: 800 Bio, and plan to take Math II
5 APs, with a 3 and 4 from sophomore year tests :expressionless:
ECs: none-- I had some things I did freshman and sophomore year, but I quit because of personal issues
I have absolutely no hooks in terms of URM, first gen, etc.

I’m pretty undecided right now in terms of major, so I’d like some strong offerings in both math and science and the humanities.

With my stats and trending, where should aim and what schools should I look into? And do I have any hope applying to Ivies and schools on that level? Would it be too late to start some extracurriculars this summer?

Home State? How much can you and your parents afford/year?

I suggest you start by thinking about what you want in a school (other than “Ivy”), what things need to be considered in your college search etc. I’d start by doing the following:
-Talk to your parents about any financial, geographic, other constraints they may have.
-Get your hands on some good college guide books (ex. Fiske, Princeton Review, Insiders Guide) and start reading.
-Consider what type of school you want – in terms of location (both geography and do you want urban/suburban/rural), size of school (LAC, mid-sized university, large university), etc.
-Consider if there are other factors you want or don’t want in your college experience such as big time sports, religious or secular, Greek Life or anything else.
-See if you can find an EC or two that interest you although it is very late in the game to demonstrate a meaningful commitment.

@Gumbymom
I’d rather not be specific, but I live in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region. My parents can afford most schools, but the lower the tuition the better.

@happy1
-I have already spoken with them about it. There are no real geographic restraints, but they would prefer for me to stay in the Northeast.
-I’m leaning toward mid-sized universities. I don’t really care if it’s urban/suburban/rural.
-I want a diverse school, in terms of religion, ethnicity, etc. Secular. I have no idea about Greek life.

If cost is an issue, look in-state first. If you don’t want to provide the state we can’t really be more specific than that.

Beyond that, could chase merit: http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com and also the associated competitive full tuition, etc. pages.

You should receive substantial merit from Lafayette and Dickinson in PA, and Denison in OH. Not clear on whether you want small or large, urban/suburban/rural, etc. You should have some nice options. College match feature here on CC might be a good starting point.

Good luck!

All good choices from @ColdinMinny . If you’re in PA, you could as also look at Bucknell, Franklin and marshall, and Gettysburg. Not sure they’d top Denison and Dickinson for aid. Denison is beautiful, btw.

Lack of EC’s will hurt you a lot for any university ranked below 40.
Look at your state flagship’s Honors College and LACs ranked 40-60.
