What day will the letters be mailed?

does notre dame have any history mailing the decisions early?

Apparently, the last couple of years, they have said that they would mail the letters the 15th but the letters were mailed out the 14th.

It makes sense for them to do that though, if you think about it. If they plan to mail the letters out the 14th but say the 15th, and then there's some sort of unexpected problem (postal delay, systems delay etc.) they have a bit of breathing room to mail the acceptance letters out.

They've probably already made decisions, and are just double checking them o r something. I'm praying that I'll get admitted EA, even though I think I'll probably get deferred.

I agree, they're probably done with decisions and are probably crossing their t's and dotting their i's.

yep, the last 2 years they have mailed them on the 14th but im hoping they mail them even earlier this year (just a hope) because the 15th is a sat ... and I can totally see a deferral coming, just praying it's not a rejection :(

Well, there are no i's in accepted, deferred, or rejected. Crossing t's though, perhaps. I just hope the "t" is preceded by "accep."

okay my projection for whatever its worth....i live in new york and i think ill get it saturday. if they mailed them a day in advance when the 15th was during the week i think it could even be 2 days in this case...wishful thinking haha

Out of curiosity, do we get an online decision of any kind? Or is everything old school?

Nope, it's all ground mail.

NY = Monday

I'm still trying to make a better estimate. I receieved mail from Hanover College on 11/29 that was postmarked 11/27 at the earliest. Hanover is near where Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana all meet. So that's about 4-5 hours away from me. Notre Dame, on the other hand, is only 2.5 hours away. Hopefully the stuff will be here by Saturday. If not, it's gonna be a long weekend.

my safety school was supposed ot mail the 15th and i got the letter from them this past monday so i think its more than possible that theyre mailed the 13th

semi-BIG NEWS!....read on

Was in the main building today to meet with someone and I got curious....and walked in the Undergraduate Admissions Office. I asked the lady when the letters would be mailed, and she said they are going out TODAY! In fact, there were several dozen bins stacked in the office itself full of normal-sized letters ready to be mailed.

Did not see any of the grand, big, accepted envelopes, but I guess they keep those in an undisclosed location (with Dick Cheney). That means most of you within a couple hundred mile radius and with a decent local postal service should know by Saturday.

Good luck all!

Just hoping my letter is in the bins you didn't see...

Mine too....but....I probably got rejected/deferred.

Chin up.
Lets not give up yet.
Keeping hoping and praying.
WE ONLY HAVE A FEW DAYS!

Don't stop believing!

Hold on to that feeling!

Thanks. :)

Too bad I live on the east coast, hmmm...judging by when my thanks for applying letter got here, i should be hearing back on Monday.

i actually called the local post office in my town phonyreal. they said that if it was mailed today from the midwest it would be reaching long island saturday so hopefully that means we'l be hearing sooner than we think : )

USPS Postage Rate Calculator

That might be useful to everyone who has the question "When will it get here?" on their minds.

3 days for a large envelope (5 ounce guestimation).

3 days for a small envelope (<1 ounce).

So being accepted or rejected makes no difference for me.
