Hey you guys. I took the sat in oct and got a 1780: 650W, 610R, 520M. On the nov sat I got 1820: 630W, 600M, and 590 CR. I am very disappointed right now. Since my score only went up 40 points and 2 of my score went down. I am however, ecstatic that my math score went up because I suck at math and never got higher than 560's on practice tests. I want a 1900 in December at least. My math score is def not going to go up. How can I get my reading and writing to be consistently 650+. What you do before tests do the nerves dont get to you? Thanks everyone!

Bump…,

How did you decided that your 3 score number is more important that CR +M? Do you have a school in mind is more interested in the 3? And what is their policy on superscoring?
Your superscore is 1860.

Lets say you are ruling out any improvement in math (which seems foolish, especially if you cant superscore)- then you have to look to see where you are losing points on CR and W. What was your essay score? I think each essay point gets you about 20 points on the W.

Unhelpfully, the CB wont have the score report for November available until the 27th but you can work from the October one. My Scores then click on the link “Understanding your Test Performance” inside the rectangle for October. Where are you losing your points in CR? Sentences or Passage Based? Are you losing in the most of your points in the Hards? Remember once you get to the Hards any obvious answer is the wrong answer. This will give you a plan to direct your study sessions.

When CB is done taking their sweet old time, the QAS for Oct will be available too. This will help you see which type of question you keep missing. Break open your study guides and keep drilling those type of questions.

First however start by verifying that CR+M isnt the more important score.

@argbargy, Thanks for the reply. most of the schools I’m applying to super score but I want to hit 1900 without a super score. Basically I don’t want to rely on a super score. All my schools look at all 3 but they probably value math and reading more. I’m horrible at math and I’m not very confident in bringing it up very much, maybe ten points at the most. I’m pretty content with a 590. I got a 9 essay on the Oct test and a 10 essay on the nov test. The questions I struggle with on reading are mostly passage based and on writing in struggle with finding the error.

If you have trouble with the Writing, then I recommend that you review your writing rules. Maybe somebody can help explain them to you. Once I understood the rules of basic grammar, my score instantly went up 100+ points.
