I applied ED and was deferred. I am not counting on being accepted because my SAT scores were lower than what I have seen posted.

I really want to go to UR. My Plan B is to transfer my sophomore year.
1) Can anyone give me some advice on what I need to do to get in as a transfer?
2) I plan to go to a division 3 school and could walk on as a lacrosse player. Should I?
2) Would anyone recommend that retake my SAT or ACT's?

1) UR really cares a lot about performing at the collegiate level. Don’t take bunny courses and do well in them.
2) Not really sure how this relates to UR. Do you want to play at Richmond? Have you spoken with the coaches? All players in DIII are “walk-ons” in that there are no athletic scholarships awarded.
3) How did you do? Do you feel you could do better? Have you taken both tests (some do better on one rather than the other)?

Best of luck. I would suggest going into your school with an open mind though, and give it a chance. If you go in knowing you’re going to try to transfer, then you probably won’t enjoy your freshman experience.

Hi bisson2015- I would suggest taking SAT again if you believe you will get scores above the averages for UR. Also, do well in your freshmen year as I believe your freshmen GPA will be counted as part of your academic performance apart from your high school transcript. Requesting an interview from UR if you can as you can absolutely reiterate your continued interest in UR. Hope all goes well with your college app! :)
