an art class and 3 other classes

my school works on an A-day/B-day block schedule so we take all eight classes all year long - finals usually hurt my year grade

ECs- Varsity Tennis, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), Junior Class Council, National Society of Black Engineers, HOSA(won 1st place in sports medicine regional competition, 3rd place in state competition), Unity Club, Outward Bound alum, athletic trainer, Junior Marshal (reserved for top 5% of class), National Honor Society, founder of Campus Greens chapter at my school (organization associated with the Green Political Party), Spanish Honor Society, Muslim Student Association (I am not a Muslim but I like helping the Muslim members of my community, especially here in the south) – I am obviously not active in all of these right now - this is a list of the clubs that I have joined and been active in over the past 3 years

Kid, welcome to Tufts. Or, for that matter, anywhere else in the country.

u def have a really good chance. they do reject kids that they think are using them as a safety. make sure to show a lot of interest in them, they like that.

Write a really good essay to show that the writing SAT isn't indicative of your abilities - otherwise, you look really good for Tufts. Very well-balanced, which they like - they want to see strength across grades, SATs, and extracurriculars.

thanx to you all...i was just thinking that my admissions essay would be my oppertunity to offset my writing score...do any of you attend tufts currently-if so what do you think?

yeah, like they all said, you got a good chance. but its not a totally sure thing, so don't take applying to Tufts lightly... make sure you show a lot of enthusiasm. Otherwise, your stats look a lot like mine save for SATs scores that are a little lower, but in terms of academic record, ranking, etc... you're like me, and I got in :-)

You're so in it's not even funny. :)

The weird thing is... if your SATs were just a bit higher, you'd have Tufts
Syndrome, which basically means you get a rejection just for being too good for them. But your scores make you seem human, which isn't exactly evident from that courseload. :)

Chances of acceptance:

Apply ED 98%
Reg Decision : 84%

bumpety bumpety bump

bumper bumpit

Are you male?

yes i am male

Then, you definitely have a great chance of acceptance. Colleges, such as Tufts, are looking for qualified male urms.

yea, you have a terrific chance, but yeah make sure you show a ton of interest. And i think it's an exaggeration to say he's a shoein at anywhere in the country, but you do have an excellent shot at Tufts and many toher top universities and LACs

i agree with greendayfan.

Good Luck!
