What can I do to set myself apart from other applicants?
I have 1470/1600 SAT and hopefully a 770+ on Math 2( just took) . The business/math related classes I will take in the next year/summer are Calc1, Calc2, Statistics and Comp Sci, and micro. I want to major in finance, and my number one school is NYU Stern. What else can I do? Extracurricular?
Your best ally in getting in a top undergraduate program is to cast a wide net and don’t get fixated on one school.
Think about a total college experience and not just the major you are focused on now.
This is not the 1980’s anymore and other schools have gained on or passed NYU.
The worst thing you can do is obssess about how a half dozen banks in NY hire.
My best friend’s son majored in African studies and started at $70,000 in a private equity firm in Philly.
