What do you guys think of this topic?

Hi everyone, I'm extremely unfamiliar with the nature of the CommonApp personal statement so I'm not really sure if this would be a good topic.

I'm thinking about writing about very personal secrets that my friends have confided in me (cutting, bulimia, and homosexuality) and how, from their everyday behavior, I would have never expected that from them. It would pretty much be about how easily feelings on the inside can be hidden by attitudes and behavior. Then I would segway into a reflection about myself, talking about my own inside struggles and feelings and then predicting how others see me because I hide those feelings myself.

I really have no idea if this makes sense, and now that i think about it, this kind of looks like a weak topic. But I still want others' opinions, so I appreciate any responses!

Not a bad way to go. Just be sure to focus on the writing, not just the topic. Start with some kind of looking-at-a-mirror idea, for instance. Then, after your “story”, return to wherever you started, with an interesting “reveal” at the end.

Just don’t get caught up with what it was that your friends shared, since that’s not really important. Instead, play up the idea that people have a public and a private persona and it’s not until you realized that others were like that too, that you discovered you have that too. And it can change depending on who you’re with.

“Love the one you’re with” … but which one is that?

yes, the structure is going to have to be eccentric. Also, watch your diction so that you do not sound condescending.
