<p>I face a dilemna- namely, my common app essay topic.
I wrote about 'overcoming shyness'. I know it can sound cliche, but everyone's told me the essay itself is really good- and I like it, too, which is not much of an indicator- I hate my best stuff, etc. Nevertheless, content wise, structure wise, as a piece of writing- it's good.
The problem, though, is that my english teacher feels the topic could be detrimental to my chances of getting in. Is that true? The essay has a positive ending... So, I'm just confused.
Can anyone take a look at my essay and profer an opinion?</p>
